A growing Pennsylvania auto group picked up two Allentown franchises after their longtime owners made plans to retire.

Sloane Automotive Group, which operates dealerships in the Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley areas of the state, acquired Daniels BMW and MINI in a deal brokered by Tim Lamb Group.

Sloane has rebranded the Crackersport Road stores BMW of Allentown and MINI of Allentown.

The transition ends an era started when the Daniels family patriarch opened a Cadillac dealership in 1962. It was awarded a BMW franchise in 1974 that was expanded in 2010 to include the MINI franchise. The Cadillac store was sold years ago. Co-owners and brothers Gary and John Daniels have been with the stores for 50 years.

Through the decades, the Daniels focused on providing exceptional customer service that made customers feel special. They rebuilt and expanded the dealership facility in 2005.

“Our goal was to provide a luxury experience to every visitor in a comfortable and welcoming environment, accepting all visitors and clients are a part of our family,” said President Gary Daniels in a press release.

For their efforts, both BMW and MINI awarded them their highest achievement honors for 12 years, BMW for providing the best customer experience in the U.S., and MINI for state dealer of the year and customer satisfaction.

Philadelphia-based Sloane also has a long legacy in the state, first entering the market in 1970. Its slogan is, “There’s no place like Sloane.”

With the latest purchases, which closed last month, the family-owned group founded by Robert Sloane now has nine dealerships, including Toyota, Honda, Audi and Porsche franchises.
