“Protecting Your Agency from Poachers” will explore the tools and strategies available to prevent your former employees and subagents from making your business their business. It will cover the dos and don’ts of traditional non-compete agreements and what can be done —beyond enforcing a traditional non-compete — to make sure your former colleagues play fair.

“It takes a ton of time, money and energy to build a successful agency. The last thing you want is to see your clients slowly siphoned away by a person with inside knowledge about how you operate,” said Bartle+Marcus. “There is no way to completely prevent this from happening, but there are ways to mitigate the risk. Unfortunately, too many agents either do nothing, or do the wrong thing.”

Bartle + Marcus has decades of experience handling complex cases, from defective products to broken contracts to the violation of constitutional rights. At the same time, the attorney-duo recognizes that every case and every legal dispute is unique, and solving these problems is their number one goal.

“We can think of no better candidate to speak to the agent-body on protecting their hard-earned business than the powerhouse team of Bartle + Marcus,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and president of Bobit’s Dealer Group. “The current environment is seeing mass amounts of the workforce on the move from one company to another, and with that comes the possibility of company information moving with them … there has never been a more crucial time to address this concern.”

Now in its 11th year, Agent Summit is designed to benefit agents and agencies of all sizes, levels of experience and catering to multiple specialties. The 2022 agenda is comprised of the general Agent Summit educational tract, the Participation & Reinsurance Symposium, breakouts targeting agencies of different levels, and a tract dedicated to New Business Opportunities.

The event's Early-Bird registration rate of $945 will remain in effect until April 14. Attendees may reserve their room at the event's discounted rate of $209/night which will remain in effect until April 29.
