LAS VEGAS – Organizers of Agent Summit announced that Brown & Brown Dealer Services' John Tabar will present "F&I for Non-F&I Managers" at the 2021 event. Agent Summit will take place Aug. 29 – Sept. 1 at the Bellagio Las Vegas.

This session was crafted to address retail compliance issues at the core. State and Federal regulations begin to apply on the sales floor shortly after the prospective guest arrives and rapidly grows hair as the uninformed desking staff does their thing ... Many desk managers are untrained and never worked as an F&I manager.  It’s 2021 and we have to fix the problem – It will enhance F&I results in the process.

“The lines between F&I and sales are not as defined as they once were. Sales managers and even some BDC managers are engaged in functions that traditionally have been the responsibility of F&I," said John Tabar, executive diector of training for Brown & Brown Dealer Services Automotive. "As agents and agent representatives, this is an opportunity for us to pull back the curtain on F&I for all stakeholders and give everyone involved in the deal a better foundation in compliance, cross function communication and deal structure.”

Prior to joining United Development Systems as director of training in 2017, John Tabar has spent the past 30-plus years dedicated to the automotive retail business. He worked for 16 years in the dealership environment before becoming a trainer for a Fortune 300 integrated insurance company, utilizing his dealership experience to train and develop dealership personnel throughout the United States. Tabar went on to become vice president of business development for that same company, working with dealers, dealer groups, third-party administrators, manufacturers and other insurance companies throughout the Americas. Additionally, he enjoyed several years as a partner in a large Harley- Davidson franchise.
