Sweden's transport authority has been instructed by a court to stop postal workers from blocking Tesla license plates, according to a report by the Aftonbladet newspaper.

The decision was made after Tesla sued PostNord halted plate deliveries, Reuters reported.

The issue arose out of an ongoing battle between Tesla and labor groups in Sweden. Union IF Metall mechanics went on strike on Oct. 27, refusing to service Tesla cars because the company wouldn't accept collective bargaining.

In solidarity, dockworkers, electricians and cleaners from other unions joined in taking action, Reuters reported.

Media reports indicate PostNord workers attempted to pressure Tesla into signing a collective bargaining agreement with IF Metall by declining to deliver license plates. The transport agency, bound by contract, declined alternative means of delivering the plates, citing its obligation to use PostNord, Reuters said.

The Norrkoping district court ruled the agency is required to provide Tesla with the plates within seven days or be subjected to a $95,000 fine, according to Aftonbladet, which reported Tesla has refused to sign collective bargaining agreements, claiming its employees already have as good, if not better, terms than those demanded by IF Metall.
