ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida-based attorney and compliance expert James S. “Jim” Ganther will present the first workshop session at this year’s Compliance Summit, organizers announced. Compliance Summit is part of the annual Industry Summit, which will be held will be held Oct. 8–10 at the Caribe Royale Orlando in Orlando, Fla.
Ganther has agreed to take on several pressing dealership compliance issues, including the recent reinterpretation of the Military Lending Act and its effect on GAP sales, stepped-up regulatory actions at the state level following the “defanging” of the former Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (now known as the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection), and often-ignored standards for employee privacy, including monitoring of phone and email communications. His session will begin at 10:35 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 8.
“What these three topics have in common,” said Ganther, “is they all contain traps for the unwary that most dealers are unaware of. And that lack of awareness can cost dealers in a very big way.”
David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of F&I and Showroom and Auto Dealer Today, said much was being asked of Ganther, a regular and valued contributor to the event. “Jim’s experience in carlaw, dedication to preparation, and engaging stage presence make this a can’t-miss session. We appreciate his hard work and we look forward to his insights.”
Registration for Industry Summit 2018 is open at the event’s website. Register by Sept. 20 to enjoy a $100 early-bird discount. To discuss sponsorship and exhibition opportunities, contact David Gesualdo at (727) 947-4027 or via email hidden; JavaScript is required
