Ford Motor Co. is extending its bonus program for senior managers to all salaried employees and will resume paying bonuses in 2011 if performance goals for 2010 are met, The Detroit News reported. Non-management salaried workers and lower-level managers had previously been compensated through a separate program, but all white-collar workers in the United States will now have their bonuses calculated according to the same standard, said Ford spokeswoman Marcey Evans. Ford suspended the bonus programs for 2008 and 2009. Whether employees get them for this year will depend on the progress the company is making on its turnaround plan. The ultimate decision will rest with the board of directors. "The metrics have to be met," Evans said. "If there is a payment, it will not be until 2011." The last time Ford paid bonuses was 2007.
