(Bobit) — Vehicles that sell for $100,000 or more are no longer a rarity, even among mass-market manufacturers. Unfortunately, a six-figure price tag guarantees neither quality nor dependability, according to The Things’ Andre Nalin, who published “19 Cars That Are Unworthy of Their $100,000+ Price Tag.”

At the top of the list is the Porsche Cayenne, which Nalin describes as “ridiculously expensive to own and run” and offers “a severe lack of cargo space” compared with other luxury SUVs. Other examples include the BMW 7 Series, Cadillac Escalade, Mercedes-Benz S55 AMG, and the high-performance version of the Tesla Model X.

“There’s absolutely no need to spend a large sum of money in order to own a great car.”

“Just because there is a large price tag attached to certain models is no guarantee of dependability, comfort, or excellence in performance,” Nalin writes. “There’s absolutely no need to spend a large sum of money in order to own a great car.”
