NCFC Expert to Join Reinsurance Symposium at Agent Summit

LAS VEGAS — Steve Barrett, executive vice president of Resource Automotive Inc., a subsidiary of The Warranty Group Inc., and a licensed CPA and securities principal, will deliver a presentation focused on the formation of non-controlled foreign corporations (NCFCs) at the Participation & Reinsurance Symposium that will precede this year’s Agent Summit 2013.

David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of F&I and Showroom magazine, said Barrett was an easy choice. “Steve is known throughout the segment for his expertise in creating and managing reinsurance entities for dealers. The information he shares at the symposium will undoubtedly prove invaluable to the agents in attendance.”

For his part, Barrett said his goal will be to “lower the level of abstraction” about how reinsurance works to benefit both sides of the dealer/product provider relationship. “Resource has always strongly advocated financial partnerships as a way of cementing business relationships with its dealer clients,” he said. “Participation, specifically reinsurance in its various forms, has long been the cornerstone of those partnerships. It’s been our experience that when all parties have a vested interest in the performance of the various F&I products offered at the dealership, that performance tends to be exponentially better.”

The Participation & Reinsurance Symposium will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, March 4, before the opening-night keynote and reception for Agent Summit. Barrett will take the stage at 3:05 p.m.

Agent Summit 2013 is scheduled for March 4–6, 2013, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and is expected to draw hundreds of the nation’s top general agents. For information about exhibition and sponsorship opportunities, contact David Gesualdo via email or call (727) 947-4027.
