TORRANCE, Calif. – Organizers of Agent Entrepreneur Experience announced today that SWDS' Peter Velau will present “Leveraging Online Training” at the upcoming virtual event. May 24-26, agents will have a unique opportunity to hear from industry experts in the comfort of their own homes. Agents are invited to register at no cost.
We quickly learned that while online training cannot replace in-person training, it can be a powerful tool for extending the reach of F&I trainers.

On Tuesday, May 25 at 12:00 p.m. (EST) Peter Velau, vice president of SWDS Training Academy, will discuss how to extend the reach of F&I training using online presentation skills learned from the necessary pivot during the pandemic.
“The COVID-19 pandemic caused an almost complete shutdown of in-person training. Suddenly, online training was the only way to address our clients’ needs,” said Velau. “We quickly learned that while online training cannot replace in-person training, it can be a powerful tool for extending the reach of F&I trainers.”
With 25+ years of automotive F&I and sales experience, Velau was with Pat Ryan & Associates (Resource Automotive Gorup) for 9 years. First as a field rep, followed by five years as a trainer. After leaving Pat Ryan, he became AutoNation’s national finance & insurance training manager. In 1999 Velau continued his professional journey and became a partner in SWDS. As the leader of their F&I and sales training division, he is responsible for development and implementation of all F&I and variable operations training solutions for SWDS’s dealer clients.
