Nissan joined other automakers to recently expand the age and mileage of cars included in their certified preowned programs.

Vehicles up to 10 years old and with as many as 100,000 miles are included in Nissan’s new Certified Select program, which also includes non-Nissan vehicles for the first time for the brand.

Nissan said every vehicle included in the program gets an 84-point inspection and comes with a six-month, 6,000-mile limited warranty, roadside assistance and one free maintenance visit in the buyer’s first year of ownership.

It joins Acura, American Honda, Ford and Stellantis in expanding CPO vehicle eligibility this year.

“As pre-owned vehicle sales continue to outpace those of new vehicles in the marketplace, Certified Select allows our trusted dealerships to offer more high-quality options for shoppers,” said Dan Mohnke, vice president, eCommerce, Nissan U.S., in a news release.

Prospective buyers can shop available vehicles at participating Nissan dealers online, even completing their purchase virtually and having it delivered.

The included warranty and free service visit can help establish a longer-term relationship between the dealership and the buyer, Nissan said.

The brand’s older Nissan Certified program stays the same. It includes models up to 6 years old and with as many as 80,000 miles, a 167-point inspection, a seven-year, 100,000-mile limited warranty and two free service visits.
