MCLEAN, Va. — NADA University, the new comprehensive education and training resource for auto dealers and their staffs, has teamed up with online human resources trainer EZ-HR — a new NADA University Partner — to expand its HR training programs.

NADA University now offers dealers a selection of information-packed education sessions focused on key HR functions, such as hiring and retention strategies; creating job descriptions and performance evaluations; developing HR policy handbooks; and meeting legal requirements.

“As a dealer, your most important asset in a competitive marketplace is a well-trained, high-quality staff,” said John Lyboldt, vice president of dealership operations for the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA).  “That’s why we’re expanding NADA U’s programs in the HR area to help dealers attract and retain top employees, and we’re especially pleased to welcome our new Partner EZ-HR to help us in those efforts.”

Among the new HR sessions offered by NADA University is a webinar entitled “Recruiting and Hiring Strategies for Today’s Dealers,” available online via the archive in its Learning Hub section. Additionally, Susan Woods of ADP Screening and Selection Services and Bob Murray of ADP Dealer Services present best practices for “hiring winners,” and focus on identifying methods for building a cost-effective and compliant screening system.  Woods and Murray note that studies show the difference between hiring a good salesperson and a poor salesperson is roughly $30,000 annually per hire, and they will show dealerships how to know whom they’re hiring.

“Car buyers are getting back in the game again as the market rebounds, and many dealerships are cautiously beginning to add staff,” added Lyboldt.  “Now is the time to step up your HR operations and training programs, so your employees are equipped with the new skill sets they’ll need to succeed in a fast-changing market.”

In addition, NADA University offers a series of other training and education sessions and materials for dealers on key HR-related issues, including:

• A new online course, “Complying with FMLA” (Family and Medical Leave Act), in the Learning Hub (coming soon)
