The award is given periodically to a person who has made significant contributions in the field of consumer financial services over that person’s career. The College presented the award on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at its annual dinner, this year held at the California Club in Los Angeles, California.

The award includes a $3,000 donation from the College to be directed to an organization that promotes the public interest in the area of consumer financial services. Ms. Fortney named the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society because it provides emergency financial assistance and financial counseling for Navy and Marine Corps personnel and their families.
