After nearly three decades with the company, BMW of North America Executive Vice President of Operations Shaun Bugbee is retiring.
Bugbee assumed the executive role in 2017 and according to the company provided steady leadership, strengthened its sales operations, advanced customer and retailer focus, and built deeper relationships across the company’s nationwide retailer network.
During his tenure, the region achieved the strongest sales performance in its history, the U.S. segment reaching record-setting sales results in each of the past three years.
“Shaun has been an exceptional leader and a trusted colleague whose contributions have been instrumental to the success of BMW of North America," said BMW of North America President and CEO Sebastian Mackensen.
Bugbee’s successor is Tom Shanley, the current vice president of the eastern region for BMW of North America. Shanley has more than 35 years of experience in automotive leadership and assumed his executive role in 2017. He has led both the eastern and western regions. While leading the western, he “guided the organization to new benchmarks in electric vehicle sales while increasing market share and overall business performance.”
Shanley’s successor is Tadhg O’Connor, who has been with BMW Group since 2012 in a variety of leadership roles. Most recently, he was head of sales in BMW of North America’s western region, where he “played a key role in driving record sales performance.”
