Electrified vehicles dominate this year’s Consumer Reports top-10 car picks as the nonprofit organization points out such models are gaining in popularity among U.S. consumers.

One fully electric vehicle, three plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and three hybrids made the list. They are:

  • Toyota Camry Hybrid
  • Toyota Prius/Prius Prime
  • Ford Maverick Hybrid pickup
  • Toyota Highlander
  • Toyota RAV4 Prime
  • Tesla Model Y
  • BMW X5 PHEV

Rounding out the top 10 are the Subaru Forester, Subaru Crosstrek and Mazda3.

Consumer Reports said electrified vehicles got some of its highest comprehensive scores, sport standard “key safety features,” and garnered high reliability and consumer satisfaction scores in surveys.

Hybrids, plug-in hybrids and fully electric models made up 16% of light-duty U.S. vehicle sales last year, the research, testing and advocacy group said.

“We’ve created new tools and resources on CR.org to help consumers compare these vehicles side-by-side and decide what makes the most sense for them,” said its automotive testing and insights manager, Alex Knizek.

It pointed out that the starting prices of six of the top 10 are under $30,000.

Meanwhile, Consumer Reports’ brand scorecard returned BMW to the top spot of 34 brands based on overall scores of their lineups from safety, road tests, reliability and satisfaction. The German automaker scored 82 and was closely followed by Subaru and Porsche.
