Stellantis brand Chrysler issued a recall of certain late-model Ram trucks because their rearview cameras may not work properly.

The recall, announced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, affects Ram 1500s of the 2022 and 2023 model years, Ram 2500s from 2022 through 2024 model years, and Ram 3500 cab chassis of 2022 and 2023 model years. About 273,000 trucks are included in the recall.

The rearview cameras may not display an image as intended to help with avoiding hitting anything while the truck is moving in reverse.

Dealers will repair the defect by updating radio software free of charge. Ram owners are scheduled to get notification letters in November.
