Scottsdale, Ariz. – Effective July 5, Johann D’Costa has assumed the newly established role of chief operating officer for CNA National Warranty Corporation.

“Adding a COO is one more step in the evolution of our company and a critical part of our commitment to maintaining our position as the industry’s premier provider,” says Joe Becker, president and chief executive officer. “We are thrilled to have Johann join us in this capacity. With his executive-level experience in growth and transformation, he is certain to be a great asset as our company continues to advance.”

D’Costa is a seasoned leader with a strong skill-set in strategy and operations, particularly in the insurance and automotive industries. For the past seven years, he served as the vice president of corporate development and global corporate strategy for The Chubb Corporation. Prior to this he was the head of strategy and operations for Marsh & McLennan’s Mercer Human Capital subsidiary and a principal in the global strategy and consulting organization at American International Group. D’Costa also spent some time as a program manager for General Motors.

As COO, D’Costa will be responsible for leading and managing operations, processes and strategies in accordance with CNA National’s overall strategic plan. He will oversee approximately 200 of the firm’s employees and play a significant role in enterprise-wide transformation projects.

D’Costa holds an MBA in finance and strategic management from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters in Planning from the University of Southern California.
