AUSTIN — Organizers of Texas Compliance Summit have released the full agenda for the event, which will be held Nov. 16–17, 2015, at the Hilton Austin Airport.

The conference will begin at 5:10 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 16, with “Dealer Beware,” a welcome address from Randy Crisorio, president and CEO of United Development Systems (UDS), followed by an evening reception.

The conference continues with a full day of sessions on Tuesday, starting with “The Coming Death of Disparate Impact: How to Make the System Work for You,” an opening keynote address courtesy of Randy Henrick, associate general counsel for Dealertrack, who will discuss the implications of recent threats to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)’s linchpin legal theory.

The remainder of the agenda will be divided into four segments: “Rules and Regulations,” “Your Responsibilities,” “Easy-to-Implement Processes and Controls” and “Is It Compliant?” Each of the first three topic headings will include a featured speaker followed by a panel discussion.

Aaron Lunt, assistant general counsel and head of regulatory affairs for The Warranty Group, will lead off “Rules and Regulations” with his featured presentation, “Regulations: Where Past Is Prologue.” Lunt will be followed by Jim Ganther, an attorney and president of Mosaic Compliance Services, who will lead a panel discussion, “Knowledge Is Power,” staffed by fellow attorneys David Engelman of SMART Payment Plan and US Equity Advantage’s Robert Steenbergh, as well as F&I and compliance expert Joshua Sonnier, who serves as American Financial & Automotive Services (AFAS)’s director of development and compliance.

Compliance Summit will then welcome Karen Phillips, general counsel and executive vice president of the Texas Automobile Dealers Association (TADA), to the stage. Phillips will discuss “Advertising, Big Data and Factory Relations,” a featured luncheon presentation.

“Your Responsibilities” will start with Rich Moore, director of training for Protective Asset Protection, who will explain why “What You Don’t Know Can Hurt You.” Moore’s featured presentation will focus on compliance in digital communication and throughout the F&I process.

Next up will be a panel discussion, “Leadership, Teamwork and Accountability,” helmed by Tariq Kamal, managing editor of Auto Dealer Today. Kamal will be joined by three dealership personnel: Sean Hudspeth and Dena Moore serve as director of HR and risk management and finance manager, respectively, for the Kansas-based Davis-Moore Auto Group, and Marla Rhen is vice president and compliance officer for Gunn Auto Group in San Antonio.

“Easy-to-Implement Processes and Controls” will begin with “Knowledge of the Law Keeps You Out of Trouble and Closes Deals,” a featured presentation by David Robertson, longtime executive director of the Association of Finance & Insurance Professionals (AFIP).

Robertson will be followed by the event’s third and final panel discussion, “Where the Rubber Meets the Road.” Moderator Brian Crisorio, vice president of marketing for UDS, will preside over a discussion among Karen Klees, certified consumer credit compliance specialist at EFG Companies, Alessandro “Al” Meloni, a finance manager at Transwest Buick GMC Isuzu in Henderson, Colo., and Brian Reed, president and CEO of F&I Express.

Texas Compliance Summit’s final act will be “Is It Compliant?”, an open-forum discussion between speakers and attendees, who will have an opportunity to ask any questions left unanswered over the course of the day. Robert Harkins, vice president of training for American Guardian Warranty Services (AGWS), will serve as ringmaster in addition to his duties as master of ceremonies for the event.

“What more can you ask for than expert speakers from the dealership, training and legal space and topics that run the gamut from important to crucial?” asked David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Auto Dealer Today and F&I and Showroom. “This is what Compliance Summit is all about.”

Registration for Texas Compliance Summit is now open. More information, including hotel and travel, is available at the event’s website. For sponsorship and exhibition opportunities, contact Eric Gesualdo via email or at 727-612-8826.
